Sonny Angel's Gift of Hope Endowment

August 09, 2006

Bill Johnson, president of JTI, has started a special fund raiser that hits close to his heart. The fund raiser will benefit the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University.

Called the "Sonny Angel's Gift of Hope Endowment," the fundraiser is on behalf of Johnson's beloved golden retriever, Sonny. Sonny passed away from lymphoma cancer. Johnson not only was impressed by the level of care and service by the staff at WSU's College of Veterinary Medicine, but very touched.

Johnson, an avid cyclist, will be riding his bike from his home in Cle Elum to the veterinary hospital in Pullman that helped Sonny. Johnson's goal is to complete this round trip journey of 414 miles in two days. He hopes that taking this grueling journey through the hot, arid climate of Eastern Washington will help raise awareness and money for animals in need of veterinary care.
